Still on the conservatory theme, here we explore another successful new garden themed restaurant.
Chiswick Restaurant and Bar in Chiswick Gardens, Woollahra, Sydney is a neighbourhood restaurant, where the menu is designed for sharing, reflecting the simplicity of great produce and changing seasons. The heart of Chiswick is its kitchen garden where much of the produce for the menu is grown.
The well known heritage building was transformed Humphrey and Edwards Architects, with celebrity chef duo Matt Moran and Peter Sullivan at the helm.
The French doors and sliding windows to the perimeter of the building allows an abundance of natural light in, and the green tableware picks up on the garden outside. The curvaceous white bent wood chairs nicely contrast the square doors and rectilinear break up of the acoustic ceiling and bring an old world green house romance to the space.
The communal table, exposed roof joists and open kitchen creates an honest and inclusive atmosphere.
The federation style pagoda allows patrons to relax in the filtered light of the garden.
